We're into the whole group thing.
We're talking about a young-professional-and-not-so-professional-totally-Kansas City group thing. Because while professional associations have done a fine job over the years serving up networking opps for this and that, the problem is, they all stop at this and that. Bo-ring.
So a group of us thought it was time for something different. A new take on networking, if you will. One with a little less emphasis on work and more emphasis on possibilities for this town as a whole. Get it? So we sat down over a cup of coffee and devised a plan. A plan to get all the groups together. Shake it up. And see what happens.
Artists. Lawyers. Musicians. Engineers. Students. Teachers. Salesmen. Buyers. Waiters. Actors. You can feel the energy already. A pot about to boil. The future of Kansas City in our diverse, yet capable, young hands.
But what to call a group that encompasses 20- and 30-somethings from all walks of life, from all parts of the area, from all types of think and do getting together to create the most progressive Kansas City ever? A Kansas City other imaginative, energetic, fresh, provocative young people will want to make their home? genKC!
Okay, enough about us.
Here's how you get involved:
We had a wildly successful first event on Thursday, June 12th in the City Market. Over 1250 young professionals from all over the region joined us. And at our last event we had over 1500 individuals attend, and we partnered with over 30 other young professional organizations.
Put our next event on your calendar!
